Celecoxib Usage Instructions

In order to get benefits of Celecoxib, it is important to take the dosage as prescribed by doctor. Patients should not take more or less than prescribed dosage and must not take the dosage longer or shorter than recommended. Other important instructions are:

• Swallow capsule as a whole, do not break or chew it.
• Take it with food to avoid an upset stomach.
• It is good to take it at the same time every day.

Dosage of Celebrex

Depending upon the medical condition for which Celebrex is being used to treat, its dosage varies. The dosage may vary from patient to patient, depending upon their age, medical history and tolerance.

• For treating osteoarthritis, the recommended oral dosage is 200mg per day. Patients can either take one 200 mg tablet or two 100 mg tablet in a day.
• For rheumatoid arthritis, the recommended oral dosage is 100-200mg tablet taken twice daily.
• For ankylosing spondylitis, the recommended dosage of Celebrex is either two tablets of 100mg or one 200mg tablet taken one in a day.
• For managing acute pain, initially 400mg tablet is recommended that can be followed by 200mg of tablet taken twice on daily basis.

Celebrex Missed and Over dosage

In case of missed dosage, patients are advised to take the dosage as soon as they remember it. It is advised to skip the missed dosage if it almost time to take next dosage. Taking a double dosage to make up for the missed dosage is not recommended.

Patients must rush to the hospital or seek medical attention immediately in case they have taken over dosage of the drug.

Celecoxib Storage Instructions

It is advice to store the drug at room temperature 25-30 degree Celsius. Keep it away from reach of children and pets. Avoid storing drug in such a place where it can come into direct contact of sunlight. Patients should safely dispose the drug if it gets expired or they have completed the required course of the medication.
