As the senior population in the U.S. begins to grow, more Americans are focusing on heart health. Those who buy Lipitor may lower their cholesterol levels and prevent stroke, and a new drug called EDARBI is now available in pharmacies to help individuals with high blood pressure.
The treatment, which was developed by the Takeda Pharmaceutical Company, was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on February 25. The once-daily oral medication can be used alone or in combination with other anti-hypertensive drugs, and has demonstrated success and safety in several clinical trials.
"Hypertension is a serious condition, but typically does not have any symptoms," explained Paulos Berhanu, executive medical director of Takeda Pharmaceuticals. "Many aren't aware of the long-term impact that hypertension has on cardiovascular health. We are pleased to make available EDARBI, an important new treatment option for patients with [high blood pressure]."
He added that maintaining a healthy blood pressure may keep other illnesses, such as strokes and heart attacks, at bay and enable patients to achieve optimal cardiovascular health.
Purchasing such medications from a Canadian internet pharmacy can help individuals save money.
